Brushing aside the mostly cloudy sky, temperatures in the upper fifties, and fifteen to twenty mile per hour wind, six ADK riders headed out from Clarence Center on the section of Rails to Trails that was once New York Central’s “Peanut Line.” With the wind at our back, it was easy pedaling all the way to Akron Falls Park. Fittingly, the sun occasionally illuminated the first signs of fall foliage. The bridge construction that had blocked foot and bike travel between two sections of the lower park was finally complete so we enjoyed our lunch break in an area we hadn’t rode in for several years. On our way back through Akron we stopped to admire cars, from a Model T to hot rods, that were in a car show along Main Street. By then the wind had increased so our ride back to Clarence Center was a bit colder and slower. As we rode, hot chocolate seemed more and more like a good idea, so after the ride, several of our group met at Tim Horton’s for hot chocolate.
