It's time for our annual ADK picnic. Come and Celebrate with friends and family!  Enjoy hamburgers, hot dogs, and soft drinks for a donation of only $3.00. Please bring a dish-to-pass or dessert. Please bring your own plate, silverware, and cup or glass to help the earth go green.

Have you ever wanted to just try a canoe or kayak but didn't know where to go? Have you ever wondered if there was a club with your outdoor interests? Here's your chance! The Genesee Valley Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club is hosting the 12th Annual Outdoor Expo on Saturday June 13th from 9:00 - 4:00 on the beach at Mendon Ponds Park. Click here for more info.

Two new books have been donated to our chapter's growing library. They are:

Both are edited by Pamela Dillon and Jeff Oyen. They are each a special book and DVD package with expert advice on equiptment selection, techniques, fitness basics, travel security, and survival skills! Our own Laura Liebel (a member of our ADK chapter) is a contributing author. The May meeting will be your last chance to borrow either of these books before September. Why? Becasue we do not have meetings at the church with access to our library in June, July, or August. So be sure to attend our meeting on May 12th and see what these books have to offer. Check online bookstores (like Amazon) for a more complete description of these items!

Have you noticed the outing schedule this month? I am sorry that the number of day hikes being offered is very limited. Maybe my brain was fried but I ran out of ideas of who to call to lead a hike. Could you help me with this? Do you have a favorite place you like to hike? Would you like to invite us to join you there? We need members to step up and volunteer to be hike leaders.
